Comparison

ActiveCampaign vs Moosend

Pricing, send limits, automation and features compared at your own list size. Prices checked 8 September 2026.

Quick verdict

A genuine mismatch in both directions, which makes it a useful comparison. ActiveCampaign has the deepest automation available at this price point (unlimited branching, lead scoring, split-path testing of whole workflows, and a real sales CRM) and costs two to five times what Moosend does at the same contact band, while capping sends where Moosend does not. Moosend gives you competent automation, cart recovery, landing pages and unlimited sending on one cheap plan. The honest test is whether you have someone who will actually build the workflows ActiveCampaign makes possible. If not, you will pay enterprise prices to send the same newsletters Moosend sends.

Automation

ActiveCampaign is the benchmark the rest of this site is measured against: unlimited branching, contact and lead scoring, split testing of entire automation paths, goal tracking and site-behaviour triggers. Moosend offers a solid visual builder with prebuilt recipes and ecommerce triggers, which covers what most businesses actually build, but has no scoring and much shallower conditions.

Ecommerce features

ActiveCampaign Plus and above include store integrations, abandoned cart and purchase-triggered automation tied to the CRM record, so a purchase can move a deal stage. Moosend includes cart recovery and product blocks on its single paid plan at a far lower price. For a store without a sales team, Moosend covers the requirement; with one, ActiveCampaign’s CRM link is the differentiator.

Forms and landing pages

Both include forms and landing pages on their entry paid plans. ActiveCampaign’s forms integrate with scoring and the CRM, so a submission can trigger a sales task. Moosend’s builder is simpler and quicker. Neither has a website builder, which MailerLite and GetResponse both do.

Email send limits

A real and often overlooked difference. ActiveCampaign allocates ten sends per contact per month on Starter and Plus and twelve on Pro (50,000 or 60,000 emails at the 5,000 band) while Moosend does not cap sending at all. Frequent senders on ActiveCampaign end up buying a higher contact band purely for the send allowance.

Free plan limits

Neither has one. ActiveCampaign offers a 14-day trial and free migration from another provider; Moosend a 30-day trial for up to 1,000 contacts. Moosend’s trial is the more generous of the two, and its entry price makes the decision cheaper to reverse.

Integrations

ActiveCampaign has the far larger catalogue, including Salesforce, Shopify, WooCommerce, Calendly and Stripe, with deep two-way syncs on the CRM side. Moosend covers WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, WordPress and Salesforce plus Zapier. For a complex stack the gap is significant.

Deliverability

ActiveCampaign scores higher: a dedicated deliverability engineering team, tiered IP pools segregated by sender reputation, and dedicated IPs on higher plans. It performs consistently well in published third-party placement studies. Moosend runs shared pools with dedicated IPs as an add-on. Neither score comes from our own testing.

Support

Both offer email and live chat on all plans. ActiveCampaign adds phone on higher tiers plus one-to-one onboarding calls, which the product genuinely needs given its complexity. Moosend assigns account managers on higher tiers. ActiveCampaign has more support because it requires more support.

Ease of use

Moosend wins clearly and it matters more than it sounds. ActiveCampaign is powerful and demanding: teams without a dedicated owner routinely use a fraction of what they pay for, which is the most common way to waste money on it. Moosend is productive in an afternoon.

Alternatives worth checking

If neither of these fits, these are the providers we would look at next and why.

How we compared these two

Prices come from each provider’s own published pricing page. The source URL and the date we checked it are shown against every figure in the calculator above; where a band has not yet been confirmed against the source it is labelled “needs review” rather than presented as confirmed.

The ranking in the calculator is by price alone. Our editorial scores, automation, ease of use, deliverability, support, do not reorder it. They inform the verdict and the use-case winners above, and each score has its reasoning written out on the provider’s own page.

We do not run our own inbox placement tests, so nothing in the deliverability section should be read as a measured inbox rate. It reflects published sending infrastructure, authentication and IP options, and documented provider policy.
