HubSpot pricing and review

HubSpot is a CRM and sales platform with marketing email attached, not an email tool with a CRM bolted on, and the pricing reflects that. Buying it purely to send newsletters is the most expensive mistake available on this page. Buying it because you need the CRM, and getting email included, is a different and often reasonable calculation.

Scores

These are our opinions, each with the reasoning underneath it. They never reorder the calculator. That is ranked on price alone.

Automation

8.5/10

Workflow automation spanning marketing, sales and service objects, which is genuinely more than an email tool can do. A workflow can update a deal stage or create a task. Marketing automation itself requires the Professional tier; Starter is limited to simple sequences.

Ease of use

7.0/10

Individual tools are polished and well documented. The platform as a whole is large, and the gap between what a tier includes and what the interface shows you is a persistent source of confusion.

Deliverability

8.0/10

Enterprise-grade sending infrastructure with dedicated IP options, SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and automatic suppression management tied to CRM state. Reflects infrastructure, not a measured inbox rate.

Support

8.0/10

Email and chat on paid tiers, phone on Professional and above, plus an extensive academy and partner network. Free tier is community and documentation only.

Send allowance is 5x your marketing contact band. Simple automation only.

Extra marketing contacts are billed in blocks on top of the plan fee. HubSpot is running a limited-time new-customer offer on Starter ($84 for the first year instead of $240); the price here is the regular one.
